Currently magazines are awash with autumn/winter 2011/2012 trends on what best to wear this season.
However, yesterday marked the first showing of what will come for spring/summer 2012.
New York Fashion week kicked off with an array of designer shows yesterday morning, which included BCBGMAXAZRIA, Richard Chai and Nicholas K.
This weeklong fashion event will also showcase an array of established talent from designers such as Monique Lhuillier, Derek Lam, Diane Von Furstenburg, Carolina Herrera, Anna Sui and Herve Leger, amongst others.
Alongside this will be quintessential American brands like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein.
Honorary Brit Victoria Beckham will also showcase her aforenamed collection as well.
Mercedes-Benz is the official sponsor for the week and are live streaming nearly half of the fashion shows online for everyone to view.
As well as established designers there will also new talent showcased throughout the week.
Project Runway is showing today and as well as establishing new designer ability this season American Express are hosting a one off fashion show with DKNY for their Card members only, with a performance from Sweedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li.
Arise Magazine will also feature performances by artists like Leonna Lewis; and many of this season’s designers including Gwen Stefani, Anna Sui, EMERSON state that music plays a pivotal role inspiring their collections.
