It seems like only last week that Kylie Minogue was DJ’ing at Boombox in London wearing one of Gareth Pugh’s Spring/Summer 2008 creations fresh from the catwalk earlier that evening.
However, that was in fact late 2007 and soon after designer Pugh moved his showings to Paris.
So, fast forward around four years (8 fashion seasons) and Pugh is now showing a more, dare we say, grown up take on his slashed leather/tasseled gowns.
Some pieces came equipped with cowl hooded and funnel-neck tops – which resembled something Grace Jones would have thrown on – alongside lattice pieces.
The collection itself was more solid, constructed and conceptual than before (if possible) with menswear mimicking womenswear for a short while.
Models also adorned striped dresses and leggings which were mostly extremely wearable in the right context.
To end the show Pugh sent out four metallic style evening gowns – all different variations – which either came with billowing skirts or tight constructed casings around the neck area.
Apart from the pointed masks these creations could easily be imagined on various celebrities such as Nicki Minaj or Lady Gaga and at red-carpet events.
